U.S. Engineering contributed $30,000 to the project, which allowed each child to make a handprint on the wall and become forever a part of the landmark building that will bring arts to the community and the community to the arts in Kansas City.

“U.S. Engineering is very pleased to be able to give these kids the opportunity to become a permanent part of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts,” said Tyler Nottberg, Chairman & CEO of U.S. Engineering. “Our company is committed to creating strong communities, and we believe the arts are a crucial part of a healthy community. By making this contribution to the Kauffman Center, we hope to not only inspire these 30 young students, but to also help create a gathering place where students, families, and arts patrons can enjoy a vibrant arts experience in Kansas City for years to come.”

The Children’s Wall at the Kauffman Center consists of one thousand children’s handprints, each with the name and age of the child. The prints will be artistically arranged along the main thoroughfare connecting the parking garage to the ticketing lobby, where they will greet visitors as they enter. The Children’s Wall is a key funding opportunity for corporations and families to help support the performances and educational opportunities that will be available for the entire community at the Kauffman Center.

“This is a great example of a Kansas City company stepping up to support arts education, and benefit generations of students,” added Jane Chu, President & CEO of the Kauffman Center. “U.S. Engineering has been instrumental in building the physical infrastructure of the arts community in Kansas City for decades. We are fortunate that they worked to help build the Kauffman Center and proud that they have invested to help open our doors to vibrant performances for our community.”
